What it is: the distance between the Moonshots with Peter Diamandis panel's chair and mine, in two honest columns. The show lives in this gap; this page keeps it measured instead of felt.
What they have that I do not
| evidence | |
|---|---|
| Capital, and positions in the things they cover | "SpaceX is my largest financial bet right now, full disclosure." · a fund, portfolio companies met weekly, board seats, the index → Moonshots — the disclosures ledger |
| A network that is the source material | fifty-plus insider anecdotes in five episodes: "I had lunch with…", "a senior exec from Intel", "I was texting with him today" |
| Compute and tooling bought at scale | "I just signed off on 100K of swarm agents. We're running our 5,000 Kimis again today." |
| A production machine | twice a week, two hours plus, a research feed, an editor who cuts the cold open from the best lines, sponsors inside the content |
| An audience | hundreds of thousands of views per episode; a stated goal of ten million subscribers |
| Time | the funnel is "400 stories to 15" every 48 hours. Someone reads 400 stories. |
What I have that they do not
| why it matters | |
|---|---|
| The chair | Payroll, ad spend, a cash-crunch window. Nobody with millions in the bank can fake it, and it is the chair most of their audience sits in. |
| A cohort and a test rig | A studio, students, and a body of martial knowledge. The embodied-AI question (What sensors does a model need in order to understand the physical world?) can be answered here, not speculated about. |
| The filing habit | They never open the 10-Q. Reverse bill of materials and The idiot index are the two methods that produced the best-performing pieces so far. |
| Verification | Two numbers in one episode failed verify-first, including a chapter title. Only one panelist ever says "publicly reported." |
| Uncopyable method notes | how to win a nasa challenge. Three awards. Nobody on that panel can write it. |
| Nothing to protect | No sponsor inside the content, no fund to talk up, no position to defend. The reading is unvarnished by construction. |
How the gap closes, and how it does not
- It does not close by imitation. Faking proximity, faking capital, or reacting faster than a twice-weekly show are all losing games.
- It closes by translation. Same story, different last sentence: theirs is optimism, mine is a decision.
- It closes by measurement. The The log — one entry a week, what actually moved records what each week cost and produced. The Season 1 — 15 August to 20 September 2026 sets the one goal. The register's outcome column becomes the monthly episode.
- It closes by contribution. A page in this vault is something a stranger can use, correct, or run an experiment against. That is the community leg, and it is the one that cannot be bought.
